We wanted to show you how we framed this amazing vintage “Berliner Weisse” Beer cardboard advertising. Because it is slightly three dimensional we wanted to give it some space in the frame and sink floated the piece in a double mat with nice wide margins. The collectible is attached with archival hinges, so there is no glue touching the cardboard. The rest is standard museum quality framing: no acid, uv filtering acrylic glazing, a nice backing paper for dust protection and a beautiful walnut hardwood frame from Picture Woods in Colorado. Another amazing piece of art framed right here in your San Francisco neighborhood frame shop.
This beautiful Navajo tapestry has been in our client’s family for years. We sewed it to a 4-ply mat and siliconed the mat to the acrylic. In order to not squish the tapestry and to conserve it we built shadowbox walls in the frame between the acrylic to create room. This custom frame is made from reclaimed wood and has a subtle grain showing. Custom Picture Framing in San Francisco!
we sewed it to a 4 ply and siliconed that to the acrylic and built shadowbox walls so the piece isn’t squished

You can walk around and see them from front and sides! We took extra care and hand sewed these antique pieces onto a clean linen panel because using adhesive could damage the art. Just like for a frame in a museum!
