Framing and Floating Art on Mats

We always try to work with the whole piece of art and that includes the actual paper or medium. For the colorful flower vase painting from @creativegrowth the frame appears to be just a clean gallery cap, but when you see it at an angle you see that beautiful warm wood tone on the side that really makes this piece come alive! We floated the whole piece with its rough edges on a white mat.

The second framing project we worked on here in our San Francisco Picture Framing location is an artist proof by @alejandro.martinez.pena . We also floated it giving it room and space in the frame. The depth, tone and texture of this frame perfectly highlights this beautiful print.
