When we designed our custom frames for these two wonderful art prints we knew we wanted to show the whole paper! So we used a technique called floating art. This way the whole piece of art is shown and is lifted up from the mat board. It not only allows the painting to be displayed in the custom frame as a whole, it also allows for shadow play and more depth.
The handmade paper for the Mexican folk art is framed in a copper color wooden frame for a soft look and the first image, the colorful painting of a woman with pears has a steel welded frame that still has an organic feel to it. We frame with conservation methods and materials that will protect your art for many years and we like to use glass or acrylics that have less or almost no reflection at all. Come by and see your options here at Underglass, your art framers in San Francisco. We are open 7 days a week!
