Here are 3 examples how art inspired our frame choice!

Each of these unique paintings gave us enough inspiration and direction for our custom frame design.

When we start looking at a new framing project we often look for texture, highlights, color and shapes in the art.

For the first image, Danys y Liethis, 2005 by Elizabeth Carlett, we saw a lot of texture and continued it into this beautiful stacked wall frame with a textured mat!

The print of the woman holding the crocodile head: The black crackle frame with gold leaf corners is the perfect texture for this super detailed art print. We floated it on hand wrapped silk and used Museum quality acrylic so you don’t lose any of that amazing detail!

And for the third custom picture frame , we love when the texture in the frame feels like an extension of the piece. The dark bold frame is the perfect contrast to the fine lined drawing! This is what we call a sink-float. We float the art to expose the edge and cut a mat around which is a nice way to add some structure. We also added a highlight color with a black line in the double mat design.
