Framing Geometry and Color: A Custom Look for an Expressive Piece
Some pieces arrive with a story. Others arrive with a feeling. This abstract original painting came into our San Francisco frame shop unsigned, but full of personality—vivid color, movement, and emotion all packed into one electric composition.
With geometric forms and a palette of orange, cobalt, green, and black, the painting pulls from abstract expressionist and cubist influences. It’s a conversation in color—non-representational, but deeply expressive.
When it came to framing, we knew the piece needed a design that complemented without overpowering. We chose a light-toned wood moulding that echoes the natural energy of the artwork, softening the contrast while letting the shapes remain front and center.
Because the painting is an original, we also used conservation-grade materials to protect it long-term—UV-filtering glass and acid-free backing—ensuring it stays vibrant and bold for decades to come.
Framing original artwork—whether signed or not—is about bringing focus and longevity to something you love. It’s about celebrating the piece for what it makes you feel.
If you have art tucked away in a closet, or a piece you’ve always wanted to spotlight, bring it by the shop. We’ll help you find the frame that lets it shine.
